Guided Meditation

Think of meditation as a mini vacation for your brain. Your body must be comfortable to provide the mind a vehicle to travel in. If not, the body distracts the mind from its mini vacation. Meditation tools like imagery, gong, mantra, and chants keep the brain busy for the mind and body to rest.

Benefits:
  • Restores the body in to a neutral space
  • Calms the racing mind
  • Facilitates awareness
  • Helps release attachments

Moving in to the present moment, sit tall in your seat sliding your shoulder blades down your back. Ground both feet flat on to the floor. Breath softly through your nose relaxing your lips and tongue. Relax your eyelids over your eyes and keep your gaze soft. Sense your presence, your height, width, even your weight and just let yourself be in this precious moment. Notice any smells or fragrances, even the taste in your mouth. Pay attention to all the sounds around you, far and near and eventually let them fade directing your attention to the sounds inside your body. Perhaps you hear your breathing or your stomach digesting or even your own heart beat. Soothing, predictable and everlasting. Notice any mind dialogue with your body. Without engaging or judging, just observe with compassion and let your self be. Allow the breath to ebb and flow like the gentle waves of the ocean. Let each breath be unique and refreshing like each new moment. Observe and experience the unknown with great awareness and compassion for yourself and others.
