event, "The Best of Jamaica", which runs from Tuesday, October 7th to Sunday, October 12th.

The sixth annual celebration of this year's event has positioned itself to be the best social soiree of its kind
in Jamaica. All expectations are that it will eclipse the past five years' event.
Best of Jamaica 2008 is a celebration and recognition of the diverse culture, food, heritage and good times associated with
Jamaica. Event attendees will get a special insight on the uniqueness that still makes Jamaica and Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa the preferred choice of visitors to the Caribbean.
Some of the events scheduled are cooking demonstrations showcasing the
intricacies of cooking Chinese, Indian and Jamaican dishes, steel drum lessons, pool olympics, and a "Pirates & Wenches" costume party. Guests will also be able to
identify unique Jamaican healing herbs and cooking condiments, learn about
coffee production, learn the latest reggae dances, and learn the local dialect
of Jamaican patois. These are just a few of the many activities associated with Best of Jamaica 2008. There is something for everyone in this cultural patchwork of diversity.
The resort will also host several parties, including the Grand Welcome Cocktail party on
the night of Tuesday, October 7th. The event will feature some of Jamaica's and the Caribbean's finest entertainers and music legends. A Grand Market on Saturday, October 11th will highlight a wonderful selection of Jamaican art, craft, keepsakes, clothing and souvenirs.
